Partisan Players
Partisan Players invite you to join a read-through of Heiner Müller’s short text, Mauser (1970)
Beginners Welcome! Partisan Players is a space to experiment with performance, acting, and theatre. This session is a rehearsal for a performance at Partisan’s Festive Social. Come together to join in rather than attending as an audience member. This will be possible on Saturday 13th December at the Festive Social.
Heiner Müller was a German dramatist, poet, writer, essayist and theatre director. His "enigmatic, fragmentary pieces" are a significant contribution to postmodern drama and postdramatic theatre.
The short text, Mauser was completed in 1970, and is largely regarded as one of Heiner Müller’s most important works. Its première was planned to take place in the GDR in Magdeburg in 1972, but the production did not make it to the stage, and Mauser was subsequently never performed in the GDR. In this time, however, it received much success in Western theatres, and was eventually performed in the former GDR in Müller’s own production of the play at the Deutsches Theater, Berlin in 1991.

💭
Some suggested questions for reflection while you read:
* Why might fascist visions of womanhood appeal to some women? What's the outcome of this?
* How have fascist ideas about womanhood and gender been spread into the mainstream? Where do we encounter them in our lives?
* How do these texts suggest we can make our feminism anti-fascist?

FeminiSit With It
Second Session: Aging (Part 2)
FeminiSit With It is a DIY facilitated space for all affected by patriarchal misogyny, in solidarity and care towards each other. We will reflect together on selected feminist themes that might be affecting us all, and talk about the lived reality of our own experiences. We will think, talk, feel, learn, laugh, dig deep, be inspired.
Open to all who are experiencing patriarchal misogyny because of who they are. Misogyny is the hatred, contempt, prejudice of women and anything associated with them, anything considered feminine. FSWI is therefore trans inclusive (binary and non-binary) and open to cis-men who express femininity (please note not every session will be fully open to everyone).
